Open till filled - Recreation Supervisor

Full-time position at 40 hrs. per week, plus competitive benefit plan.
DESCRIPTION:  Located in the Feather River region of the Sierra Nevada mountains (clean air, low crime and year round outdoor sports), the District is seeking an intelligent, motivated and diversely skilled individual to plan, coordinate and implement a wide variety of community recreation and sports programs.  Incumbent will assist with the selection, training and supervision of part-time, seasonal and volunteer staff including: gym supervisors, sports referees, volunteer sports coaches, and possibly aquatic staff (d.o.q.).  Strong emphasis placed on youth and adult sports programs, and aquatics.  Incumbent also will assist with a variety of facility care and maintenance tasks, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:  The typical candidate will possess the equivalent of an A.A. degree (or higher) in community recreation or similar field, and at least three years or more of related experience (two years minimum in a supervisory capacity), valid C.D.L., strong knowledge of traditional sports and sports officiating concepts, and possession of a Red Cross Life Guard certificate or capacity to obtain.  Position requires excellent oral/written skills, emotional maturity, strong organization skills, good work ethic, and good computer word and graphics skills.
