Programs and Activities

Youth Basketball

Grades 3-8

Offered to boys and girls 3rd through 8th grade. The season usually runs mid-November through February and practice is generally one to two days per week. The registration fee for 3rd/4th is $45 per child and 5th-8th grade is $60 per child. All practices are  at the Quincy High School gym. 5th-8th grade teams play in a county-wide league with travel required. Pre-registration is required. Call 283-3278 for more information.

Adult Basketball

The adult basketball season begins the first Saturday in January and runs for nine weeks. Games are played between 9 AM and 12 PM on Saturday's in the Quincy High School gymnasium. Open to men and women ages 20 and up. Pre-registration with a team fee of $300 is required at the District Office.

Youth Basketball

Grades K,1&2

Youth basketball is also offered for Kindergarten,1st and 2nd grades. This clinic format program is held once a week for eight weeks beginning in early January. Registration fee is $25.00. The program is held at the Plumas-Sierra County Fairgrounds in the Serpilio Hall from 5:15 - 6:00pm each Tuesday. Pre-registration is required at the District Office.

Fall Youth Soccer

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED: The Fall youth soccer program runs late August through October. Teams generally practice twice a week with most games on Saturday mornings. Soccer is available to the following age groups: Pre-K, U6, U8, U10, U12, and U14. The U12 and U14 Divisions play in a county-wide league with some travel required. Pre-K: $10

Summer Soccer Camp

Summer soccer camp will be July 19-22, 9 AM to 12 PM for ages 8-14 and 10 AM to 12 Pm for ages 5-7 at Feather River College. CPRPD partners with local soccer leaders to provide fundamental soccer instruction and gameplay for ages 5 to 14. The cost of the program is $40 for 5 to 7 year-old's and $60 for 8 to 17 year-old's. Adult Softball

The league features men's, women's and two co-ed divisions for players over 18 years of age. Games are played one to two times a week at either Gansner Park or Feather River College softball fields, beginning May 3rd and the season runs through mid-August. Men's Division plays on Tuesday's, Women's on Wednesday's, and Co-Ed on Monday's and Thursday's. Pre-registration is required- use the buttons below to register for your respective divisions. Pioneer Pool is located at Pioneer Park in East Quincy. The pool is open Mondays through Fridays from 3:00 - 5:00 (public swim) and 5:00 - 7:00 (family swim). Saturday's are available for party rentals between the hours of 10 AM and 7 PM. The pool opens June 14th and will be open through August 7th  for a wide variety of swim activities. Both private and group swim lessons are offered from levels 1 through 7 plus Parent/Tot. Two nine-day group lesson sessions are offered at separate times during the summer. Family swim passes may be purchased for up to 6 members at $125.

community recreation challenge!

Beginning January 25th, the District will offer a free recreation challenge to the community. Six weeks. Six challenges. May the best group win! Put together a group of two to four, family or friends, and compete to win free CPRPD recreational activities for a year! For each challenge, winners collect 30 points, 2nd Place 20 points, and 3rd Place 10 Points. Specific details for every challenge and updated standings will be released the Monday of each week. The Math, Fitness Rig, and Wordtastic Challenges must be pre-scheduled with District staff, while the Snow Scene, Pump Track Design, and Highest Elevation Challenges can be completed at any point during the week

Junior Golf Clinic

The junior golf clinic program runs in the Fall at Plumas Pines Golf Resort. The program is led by CPRPD General Manager and former golf professional, James Shipp. Participants focus on swing mechanics, short game, rules, gameplay, and more, and will also play six holes with on-course instruction. The cost of the program is $190, is limited to the first twelve participants, and is open to participants 7 to 14 years old. All participants are responsible for their own transportation and must bring their own clubs. We will provide an update when this program is offered again.


QJSHS Art Instructor Danielle Frid leads sessions of canvas paintings for youth ages 8 to 18. The cost of the program is $75 per session, which includes all materials. We will provide an update when this program is offered again.

Monday Night Golf Scrambles

CPRPD  partners with Plumas Pines Golf Resort in the summer months to offer a weekly 9 hole scramble at reduced rates of $35 w/cart and $20 for walkers. Weekly winners will receive a prize. The 9 hole scramble generally takes place every Monday at 5 PM throughout the summer. We will provide an update when this program is offered again.

Johnsville Jr. Ski Team

Offers ski racing for 1st through 8th grade boys and girls from January through March. CPRPD registration Form fee is $35.00.  Additional Auburn Ski Club fee, Boreal Ski pass, and lift ticket costs for 6-8 races are not included. Sign-up today! For more information email Director Niki Hall at


Summer tennis traditionally runs June-August at the QHS tennis courts. Instructors focus on skill building, fundamentals, and gameplay. We will provide an update when this program is available once again.

Elementary Strings

This program is available to school aged youths regardless of skill level. Ms. Johny McDonald is the program instructor and all classes are held at Quincy Elementary School. Registration is required through Ms. McDonald. Registration fee is $45.00/month plus musical instrument rental.

Plumas Swim Team

Open to boys and girls 1st through 8th grade. Sign ups occur in April/May with practices beginning in early June. Swim team members participate in approximately five swim meets including the Quincy Invitational Meet in July. Summer Sand Volleyball

Summer Sand Volleyball is an opportunity to play recreational sand volleyball welcoming all levels of play.  Teams of 2 and 4 can compete every Saturdays on the FRC collegiate sand courts. This program will pick back up again in 2021. $40 per participant and must be 16 years or older. See you out there!


The youth wrestling program begins in early January and ends in early April. Kids in Kindergarten-8th Grade may participate. Practices are every Tuesday and Thursday in the Round Room at Quincy Junior-Senior High School. K-3rd Graders practice from 4:30 to 5:30 PM while 4th-8th Graders practice from 5:30 to 7 PM. Registration for the program is $25.
